When I visited the town of Murnau for the first time a small branch felt in front of my feet during a walk in the woods. Some weeks later I read about the death of Ödön von Horvath, an author who once lived in Murnau: He was hit by a limb next to the Champs Elysees in Paris during a thunderstorm in 1938.
